untitled
A soft voice whispers to me
So near yet so far away
Quiet like a tune carried on the wind
Loud like a thunder storm overhead
I reach out to touch the person talking to me
But I cannot for they are long since dead
Why me, why now, why here, why them
Speaking words that touch me, move me, hurt me
I look at the face I have not seen in ten years
You tell me the truth, what has happened
What is yet to come
I look at your face and cry
I finally get to say good bye

Belonging
All is wanted is a place to belong
A place to feel welcome
A place to call home
A place to fit in
A place free of pain, of fear, of death
One that welcomes into the warmth whoever you may be
Whatever you might be
A place free of blood and pain and tears
A place where it's safe to cry
A place where anyone can be who they want to be
And not face retribution of any sort
A place where anyone can feel they are free
Some never belong
Some belong for a time but then get cast out
Cast out like unwanted rubbish
And the majority judge those who do not belong

Who?
Who am I, I do not know
I have not known for a long, long time
Who I thought I was I am not
Will I ever know?
It hurts so much I have no face, no name, no me
Who am I who will I become?
Who I was got lost long ago
Never to return or be found
All to me seems so unreal as I do not know who I am
Maybe this is how it's meant to be
The unknowing the lost ID
Maybe that's who I'm meant to be
